mud lites?
« on: January 10, 2009, 02:08:39 PM »
So, with the IRS the 700 has plenty of ground clearance to go through mud and not get caught up easily as a quad with a straight axel would. What im wondering is, if i put ITP mud lites on the trx700xx would it go good through the mud? ??? there are no you tube vids of the 700 going through mud yet so i havent seen any proof of their "4-bying" abilities. I just know the Polaris vidoe showed the outlaw going good through mud with its IRS system, so i guess im assuming the 700 will tear through mud like no other. oh, and one more thing, i live in Alaska, and when i say mud, i mean like swamp mud about 1 to 2 foot deep at times, running half way up the tires at least.

Well it definitely will not perform like a 4x4 in the mud, but you can get close. Putting regular mud lites on the 700xx is not a good idea, go with the mud lite sports. They are designed for sport machines. The only problem with these is the tallest tire is only 20"

Get a pair of BearClaws. 24-9-11. Almost unstoppable.

This brings up another point, there are many tires which aren't all that popular but they are really good in the mud, specifically for sport quads. A quick google search can show you a bit.

Turf Tamers would have to be the worst tires ever in the mud...horrible cleanout.

I have mud lites 22x7x10 front and 22x11x10 back on itp t-9 pro series rims and they go great in the mud.
