help with trail tech vapor
« on: January 10, 2009, 02:43:51 PM »
I recently bought the trail tech vapor as well as the aluminum mount. i started to install the mount and ran into problems right away. although i probably shouldn't have i cut some of the plastic off the mount that holds the indicator lights.  the back side of plastic piece wouldn't sit properly on the goose neck. after more problems and frustration i found this site and saw that some of you had the vapor as well. im not sure if i did something wrong or if i have to do some fabrication. any help would be great.

I had some of the same issues.  There is a couple of brackets that gets in the way of the plastic.  The one loop cable guide you can bend a little to make it work, but the bracket mount for the brake I had to trim some plastic on the back side.  It wasn't too bad and when I was done it worked out very well.  I have heard a few people just cut off those brackets, but I would recommend just trimming the plastic.  I looks great once you are done but it was a bit of a pain in the neck.  I also used some of that culvert looking black plastic cable sheaths to run the cables through an it gave it a nice finish

thanks i appreciate it. are your rubber boots for your indicator lights sitting pretty tight on top of the goose neck. mine are and im afraid they will wear out and cause a short cause they will be jammed in there.
