should i buy one?
« on: May 31, 2010, 03:35:20 PM »
Alright a little about my riding history. I have had two 4x4s a yamaha kodiak 400 and a grizzly 660 then I got a trx450r which I modified (13 to 1 hi comp piston, full baldwin exhaust, jetted, and tons of other stuff) then I moved to the 2 wheeled world with a cr125 and currently have an xr200r that im going to get rid of. I want something I can do fast trails, light mud, and some racing. I looked at the can am renegades both the 500 and the 800 but they are a little too expensive for me. I found a 2008 trx700xx brand new at a dealership in rockingham for $4798.

Is this the right bike for me and is that a good deal?

Hi Racer, buy one mate I have had one for 6 months now and its one of the best quads I have owned, once you do the big3 it opens up a whole new realm of HP. The only down side to the quad no adjustable suspension and its a bit heavy when jumping. Mate I wished I lived in the US especialy the price you pay for stuff what would you do if I told ya 700xx are $13000 in AUS.

Tez, mate good to see some one from Aus, I live in the ACT. People may bag Canberra but we have some of the best riding in the country. I sit at my office desk and can see straight out to the mountans were we ride.

Over hear Big fella its so vast the Rangers and Police dont have a chance at patroling the whole area(we are talking Millions of acres). Just recently half of our land was given back to the Natives and now we just do what we want as no one patrols it.

Look at the previous thread and pay attention to my post (twinbratz). (Why is the 700 so slow)  I bought mine in Scottsdale AZ. for $3899 and tax and 500 for a 5 year warranty.  I own a Polaris Ranger 700XP, Polaris 525 Outlaw and a 600lb single seat sand buggy with a 120HP GSXR motor and this Honda is WAAAY more fun to ride.  If you ride mostly tight trails and don't mind doing endless service work buy a Polaris Outlaw 525. Lots of ground clearance but that KTM motor wants a lot of attention.  I just sold a 1983 650XR which I bought new and it still ran great. The dealer  said that the 700 was a water cooled reinforced version of this old 650 motor. To me it sounds the same and it even shifts the same.
Hope this helps.
