faster quad
« on: June 14, 2010, 05:10:42 PM »
ok guys so first  ride went well on 700xx. which is stock straight out of the box.
after a full weekend riding and getting a feel for the bike we had to line em up and find out for shore who had the honours. around a 400metre drag race across lancelin dunes western australia .
their was 450er(05) ltz 450(08) another ltz450(09) yamaha raptor 700(09)and the 700xx(09)
after 10 runs which we weree gonna stop after 3 lol. rev limiter most gears and the ltz with pipe and filter was still fulling away 3/4s down the run .
didnt expect to be faster than the 450 but was very glad to keep up with the raptor which did have pipe and filter, the 700xx by the way is so far stock

regards Terry

cheers overlord , straight up i wasnt over awed by the power , i guess its their but maybe expecting more. i deffinately will be making some mods , when you say the big 3 im thinking you mean pipe , efi , and filter. or are you referring to something else . can you recommend brands and approx prices , dont go to too much trouble i will be checking sites and reviews . the other issue i had was front shocks are to soft , on full noise and breaking into corner they dove into corner ok but a bit to far and seemed to be slow coming back up , how much will adjustment  help, being as though adjustment looks limited.

cheers Tezza

Hi Tez first up I run the full HMF Bill Ballance pipe it has a bad arse note and gets big hp gains, then you want the HMF fuel controller and a Pro Design Dual stage filter all sent to my door by ATV Gallaxy for $950 deliverd. Mate dont even piss around with the shocks they are crap dont even try a revalve I did and it was good for a while then I lernt how to ride the quad and they were usless. Have a look at Club 700xx there's guys always selling front ends and rear shocks for a bargin also I am prettysure that any TRX 450  a-arms and shocks will fit a 700xx just make sure the shocks are the right lenghth standard 700xx is about 18.5inch there is an absoult ton of stuff for sale.

Yea mate I know what you mean about the Raptor especially when you can get the Stadium set up put through them for $1500 it makes em so different I am about to do the Stadium upgrade to my girls Raptor. Mate just keep looking at Club 700xx like I said there is a ton of bargins to be had. Man let me know what you want and I will put you in the right direction.

By the way Tez I am 47 years of age this year so thats no excuse and I still give it to the young punks big time I know one thing they dont make racers like they used to let me tell ya. These new generation racers can be broken in a milli second. Dont let them Bling there bikes and there stuffed before they even hit the starter button.
