A Honda "700r"?
« on: September 25, 2007, 08:35:41 PM »
What are your guys thoughts on Honda releasing a 700r, racing/mx edition of the 700xx? If they were to release such a quad, which would be a great idea in my opinion, they should make it an SRA, lighter, less plastic, and some better tires/wheels.

Yep, those raptors are starting to annoy me, most of the people that buy them are new to quading and they think the more cc's the better the quad is. They think the Raptor 700r is an untouchable quad in every aspect... Man that just pisses me off.

Yeah, it was always fun dusting off a Raptor with my 450r.

Yea well this Honda 700 looks pretty straight to me, i dont think they will make a race version of this new TRX becuase there is no professional class for a Honda 700, it looks to me like its a woods quad that is pretty unstoppable and still has some style. As for you raptor haters, you can suck my balls cuz raptors are nasty ive had plenty of riding time on Honda 450s and yamaha 450s and I still like the Raptor 700 better. The reason why new quad riders pick a raptor 700 above everything else, is the same reason why anyone would. It looks sick, drives sick, and is sick. And as cool as independent rear suspension is, Id rather have a raptor then this new honda thing hands down.

How can you say you would rather have a Raptor when it isn't even out yet.

Now, you say you like the Raptor 700r more than the 450's... If you are going for general trail riding, yes, the 700r will be better. But when it comes down to racing and riding balls out, the 450's will kill the Raptor.

No, the only reason why new quad riders pick the 700r is because they need a general quad that is easy to ride, they don't want/need a REAL PERFORMANCE quad.

Exactly.

I am tired of people saying this quad sucks and the Raptor will smoke, and the other way around, the quad is NOT out yet, stop claiming false facts.

I doubt Honda will release a 700r, there is no point in making one.

Is the Raptor 700 easier to ride than the Raptor 450? And does it make sense the TRX700 will be easier to ride than the TRX450? For now I only get to ride utilities since the shop doesn't have any sport demos but for dirt bikes I find the 450s are a bit to much kick compared to the 250s. Either way quads are better than bikes.

Yep, the Raptor 700r is easier to ride than a YFZ450, it will be even easier with the 700xx.

See, I'm one of those rare guys that actually owns a Raptor and a 450er.   There is no doubt, the Raptor is the more complete and yes faster ATV.   The 450r is hard to beat off the start,  but by 3rd gear the Raptor is pulling ahead and not looking back.   You just can't beat displacement.  Now if I can just get my hands on this 700xx.   Does anyone here no when its going to be released retail.

The XX will be released next week. Some dealers should have them on April 1st. As I stated on another thread, the initial feedback from the test riders is not good. I'm really pissed!!

Wow, I don't want to sound like a know-it-all dick but I really doubt that... I don't think Honda can fail with a product they hype ip so much.
